The series 65 exam is very diversified but present value is a concept that is important for many topics.  A series 65 tutor can help you understand the nuances of present value applications.   The process of getting present value is called discounting the cash flows.  


This process can be applied to capital budgeting projects (think CFO buying another plane due to pick up in air travel).  It can also be applied to figuring out the present of a bond or a stock.  With a stock, you can use a dividend discount model to estimate the present value of a stock.
